Breach, Threatening and Impaired Driving

A 38-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after City Police attended a west end address shortly before 4 am this morning. It is alleged that the accused attended at his ex-common-law’s address and harassed her. The male also threatened a female friend of the victim who was at the residence. Upon their arrival officers learned that the accused has left the residence. Officers located the accused near his address in a vehicle. Officers observed the accused exiting the vehicle and when the officers spoke to the male they noted that he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. The accused was on a release document with conditions not to molest, harass or annoy the victim and not to consume alcohol. The accused was also on a probation order with conditions. The male was been charged with three counts of breach of a release order, one count of threatening death or bodily harm, one count of impaired driving, one count of fail to provide a breath sample and one count of breach of probation.

Assault, Threatening, Breach and Forcible Confinement

A 42-year old male turned himself into City Police last evening on a number of charges. It is alleged that on the 6th of October the accused assault his ex-girlfriend by throwing her on the bed, grabbing her hair and hitting her head on a bed. The male also refused to allow the victim to leave the residence a number of times. This occurred at the downtown residence of the male. When the victim was able to leave the accused allegedly threatened to damage her vehicle and cut the brake lines. At the time of these offences the accused was on a release document with conditions. The male has been charged with one count of assault, one count of threatening to damage property, three counts of breach of a release document and one count of forcible confinement in regards to the incident on the 6th of October. The accused was also wanted on warrants for failing to appear in court in relation to impaired related matters from 2001. The male will appear in bail court this morning.

Assault & Theft Under $5000

A 57-year old female will appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that on the 11th of October in the afternoon the accused assaulted her boyfriend by punching him in the face. The incident occurred in a downtown residence. It is further alleged that the accused stole a vehicle that the victim had borrowed from a friend and left the area. Around 10 pm last night the vehicle was stopped at Canada Customs and officers from the City Police attended at Customs and the female was taken into custody. She has been charged with one count of assault and one count of theft under $5,000.

Busted with Stolen Pickup

Last evening just before 9:30 pm officers stopped a pickup truck on Second Line West near the Market Mall. Officers learned that the pickup was stolen. The male driver, 25-year old Kevin Bennett of 10-874 Queen Street West has been charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime. The passenger, 21-year old Dustin Schrik of 203-524A Goulais Avenue was also charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime. Both males will appear in court on November 13th.

Charged with Mischief

19-year old Robert Stewart Cowan of 93 Pittsburgh Avenue was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of mischief. It is alleged that on the 16th of August the accused kicked and dented the doors of a vehicle that was on Ontario Avenue. The accused will appear in court on November 6th.

Another Copper Wire Thief Charged

City Police arrested an 18-year old male yesterday and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that in August of this year the accused stole copper wire from the Prince Lake Wind Farm area. The accused then sold the copper to a scrap yard. At the time of the offence the accused was 17 years of age and therefore his name cannot be released. He will appear in court on November 21st.

The following acts of mischief were reported yesterday to the City Police:

1) A vehicle on Goulais Avenue was spray painted sometime between 6 pm on the 10th and 8 am on the 11th of October.

2) Last evening around 7 pm a vehicle was spray painted while on Donna Drive.

3) Yesterday afternoon a homeowner on Park Place Drive reported that bb gun pellets had damaged their house.

These acts of mischief or vandalism are not simply pranks. They are criminal offences that can carry a penalty of up to ten years.
