Male Charged with 4 Counts of Breach of a Release Order
37-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested yesterday morning. It is alleged that the accused and his ex-girlfriend showed up separately in a downtown restaurant yesterday morning. The female tried to avoid the male but he approached her. She left the restaurant and it is alleged that the male then showed up at her downtown address uninvited. The female left the residence after it is alleged the male refused to leave. The female then went to a church and then another restaurant, all the while allegedly being followed by the accused. The police were subsequently called and the male was arrested. The accused was on release order with a number of conditions including abstain from consuming alcohol, not to communicate with the ex-girlfriend, not to attend at her address and not to molest, harass or annoy her. The male has been charged with 4 counts of breach of a release order and one count of criminal harassment.
Drug Bust
News Release Oct 20th On October 19th around 4 pm the Joint Forces Drug Unit, which consists of members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, the Ontario Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Section, the Ontario Provincial Police North East Region Crime Unit and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, executed a search warrant at a residence on Biggings Avenue with the assistance of patrol officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. Officers arrested 2 persons and located 1.1 grams of marijuana, 1 ecstasy tablet, 2 marijuana plants and 19 doses of LSD. The estimated street value of the drugs is $2500. During the execution of the warrant the female accused resisted officers by attempting to walk away and had to be restrained. When a female officer searched the accused female she found the LSD as well as a small amount of cannabis marijuana. Officers also seized $250 in cash from the residence. 19-year old Brian Bouchard of 179 Biggings Avenue has been charged with one count of production of a controlled drug or substance and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. He will appear in bail court this morning. 21-year old Katrina Holkko of 179 Biggings Avenue has been charged with one count of production of a controlled drug or substance, two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance, one count of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance and one count of resist arrest. She will appear in court on November 21st.
Update to above release:
Yesterday morning officers arrested a 3rd person in relation to the above incident from October 19th. 28-year old Sean Hurley of 179 Biggings Avenue was arrested yesterday morning and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of production of a controlled drug or substance. It is also alleged that the accused had failed to notify his change of address, which was a condition of a release document. Mr. Hurley has been charged with one count of breach of a release order as well. He will appear in court on December 5th.
Male Charged with Theft
24-year old Tyler Wilkes of 747 Wellington Street East was arrested and charged with one count of theft under $5,000 yesterday. It is alleged that the accused stole some musical equipment from two males and pawned the items. The police were notified and the items were recovered from two pawnshops. The items included 2 speakers, 2 microphones and several other items. The accused will appear in court on December 5th.
Female Charged with Assault
26-year old Melisha Lepine of 4-702 Second Line West was arrested last evening and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused go into an argument with a female in the 700 block of Second Line West and allegedly shoved the victim. The accused has been charged with one count of assault and will appear in court on December 5th.
Female Charged with Assault with a Weapon
A 35-year old female was arrested just after 5 am this morning and charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that the male victim and female accused got into an argument in the victim’s west end address. It is further alleged that the accused threw a picture frame at the victim and struck him in the face. It is further alleged that prior to leaving the residence the female stole some of the male’s prescription medication, namely percocet. The male and female have been involved in a relationship and the name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim. The accused will appear in court on December 12th.
Yesterday City Police received 2 reports of break and enters:
1) A home in the 400 block of Nelson Street was entered sometime between October 26th and 31st. Nothing was taken in the incident but the residence had been left in a state of disarray.
2) A home in the 100 block of Estelle Street was entered between the 1st of November and the 2nd of November. Thieves made off with jewellery and an undisclosed amount of money. The house was also got through and left in a state of disarray.
