BREAK & ENTERS At approx. 12:05 a.m. yesterday, City Police were called to the Bawating Quik Mart in regards to an alarm. Upon arrival officers discovered that the store had been broken into and that an unknown quantity of cigarettes was stolen.

At approx. 12:05 a.m. yesterday, City Police were called to the Bawating Quik Mart in regards to an alarm. Upon arrival officers discovered that the store had been broken into and that an unknown quantity of cigarettes was stolen.

Yesterday morning, at 8:00 police were called to investigate several break-ins to the construction trailers located at 546 Great Northern Road. This worksite is the future location of Home Depot. It is not known at this time what was taken.

City Police are also investigating a break- in to the business known as Insta Loan located at 59 Great Northern Road. At about 9:05 p.m. yesterday a male at the front of the premises smashed the front door window with a pry bar. The suspect then fled westbound on Champlain Avenue. He is described as a male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing dark clothing and a ski mask. It is not known at this time what was taken.


SUSPECTS FOUND IN STOLEN VEHICLE
At 9:00 a.m. yesterday, City Police were called to an address in the 200 block of Wallace Terrace regarding a stolen 1990 Dodge Spirit. At 4:10 this morning officers investigated a suspicious vehicle parked in the lot of the Eastgate Hotel. Officers found two males in the car and also discovered that the ignition had been tampered with. Both males were subsequently arrested and charged as follows:

1. Shaun Phillip Wilson, age 18, of 136 Pilgrim Street was charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Break-in Tools, and Unlawfully at Large. He will be appearing in Bail Court today at 1:30 p.m.

2. Brian Donald Renner, age 20, of 175 Queen Street East, Apt. 202, is charged with Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of Break- in Tools. He will be appearing in court on Monday Jan 05 at 9:00 a.m.


MAN ARRESTED FOR HARASSMENT
The Sault Ste Marie Police Investigative Services arrested a 36-year-old male yesterday and charged him with two counts of Criminal Harassment and three counts of Breach of an Undertaking. These charges stem from an incident that took place on Monday. Nov. 24th. It is alleged that the accused, who is known to the victim, was constantly following her. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 1:30 p.m.


VEHICLES EGGED
Recently there have been several reports of vehicles being egged. Although this may seem like a prank to some people it is really an offence of mischief. Not only can this damage a car it is also a very dangerous act.
