Update to release on missing child.

Police Seek Assistance in Locating a Missing 7-Year Old Child
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is currently looking for a missing seven-year-old child. Jacob Assiginack-Sackville who resides in the 200 block of Albert Street West has not been seen since just before 4 pm last evening by one of his parents. Another child whom he had been playing with last saw him around 5:30 pm in the area of Albert Street West. City Police were notified last evening just before 11 pm.
Jacob is described as being Native Canadian, 4 feet tall, 60 lbs, with short dark brush cut hair. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with the number “73” on it, black jogging pants, and black boots.
Officers from the City Police have been checking the downtown area for Jacob and are also asking residents in the downtown core to check their outbuildings, porch areas and garages in the event that Jacob went into one of these buildings for shelter. Landlords in the area are also being asked to check any storage rooms or common areas in apartment buildings.
Anyone who saw Jacob last night or this morning, or who has any information about his whereabouts, is asked to contact City Police immediately 949-6300.
Breach, Obstruct Police, and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
43-year old Ronald Marini of 428 Second Line West will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested and charged last evening with two counts of breach of a release document, two counts of obstruct police, and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon. Officers stopped the accused while he was operating a vehicle last evening and it is alleged that he provided a false name to the officers. Officers were able to determine that he accused person was indeed Ronald Marini. When officers went to arrest the accused it is alleged that he fought the officers. When officers searched the accused they located a flick knife in his possession. It is further alleged that the accused breached release documents by failing to be in his residence on the 14th of November during a court imposed curfew and for possess the prohibited weapon (flick knife) while on a court order prohibiting the accused from possession a prohibited weapon.
Impaired Driver Stopped at Customs
22-year old Clinton Peltier of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan was arrested just before 3 am and charged with one count of consume over the legal limit. The accused was stopped at Canada Customs and detained by customs officers for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol. The accused was turned over to City Police and subsequently arrested and charged. The accused will appear in court on December 18th.
Youth Charged with Prohibited Weapon
A 17-year old youth was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of possession of a prohibited weapon. It is alleged that the accused had the knife on him while officers were dealing with the accused on a matter they were investigating. The accused will appear in court on January 9, 2007.
Fraud Charges Laid
Officers from the Fraud Unit arrested 27-year old Bobbi Lynn Ross of 319 Rowell Avenue yesterday. It is alleged that in October of this year the accused defrauded persons known to her by using their credit card to arrange for cash advances. The amount of money taken was just over $4,700. The accused has been charged with one count of fraud and will appear in court on December 18th.
Domestic Dispute
City Police arrested a 45-year old female last evening after attended at a downtown residence for a domestic dispute. It is alleged that the accused threw an iron at her common-law husband. The accused has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and will appear in court on December 20th.
City Police received a number of break and enter reports in the last 24-hour period:
1) Just after 9:30 am a homeowner on Arizona reported that their garage had been entered between the 14th and 15th of November. A number of smaller items were taken including a 13-inch television.
2) A second homeowner on Arizona also reported that their garage had been entered overnight on the 13th and 14th of November. It is unknown if anything was taken.
3) Last evening City Police attended at a residence on Hudson Street. A residence had been entered and a purse was removed from the address.
