TWICE IN ONE DAY 18 year-old George Clifford Langevin of no fixed address will appear in bail court this morning after he was arrested twice yesterday.
TWICE IN ONE DAY

18 year-old George Clifford Langevin of no fixed address will appear in bail court this morning after he was arrested twice yesterday. At 8:12 am Langevin is accused of using a large stone to smash a window out of a bus shelter on Mary Street. Damage is estimated at $500.00.At 8:09 pm Langevin was arrested for the second time in Mary St. Park when officers responded to a call about male passed out in the park.

When officers checked Langevin he was found to be in possession of what is believed to 8 grams of cannabis resin and 11 grams marihuana. At the time of his arrests Mr. Langevin was on a probation order to keep the peace and be of good behavior. He faces 1 charge of mischief, 2 counts of possession of a controlled substance and 4 counts of breach of probation.

NORTH BAY IS NICE THIS TIME OF YEAR

At 10:30 yesterday morning 20 year-old Robert Lee Day of 112 Railroad Avenue was arrested on outstanding warrants from North Bay Police Service. The warrants contained 7 counts of break and enter. Mr. Day was to be escorted back to North Bay for a court appearance.

YOUNG OFFENDER IN TROUBLE

A young offender was arrested and charged on Wednesday afternoon after an attempt was made to cash a cheque that belonged to someone else. The youth attended at The Money Mart on Great Northern Road with a cheque payable to another person, and also had a piece of identification of the person that was named on the cheque. The youth will appear in court on June 15 charged with personating, fraud and possession of stolen property.

ASSAULT CHARGES

A 33 year-old man is charged with 2 counts of assault and 1 count of possession of a controlled substance after a domestic dispute in the city’s east end. The man is alleged to have ripped the sunglasses from the complainants’ head and then struck the complainant in the body. This assault took place on the 11th of May.

Yesterday the accused is alleged to have pushed the complainant in the hallway of an east end residence and then grabbed the complainant by the neck and pushed the victim to the floor. Upon being arrested and searched the accused male was found to have a small amount of what is believed to be cannabis marihuana. The accused will appear in bail court this morning.

DOMESTIC DISPUTE

A 39 year-old man will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested and charged following a domestic dispute at an east end residence. The accused, charged with assault, is alleged to have pulled the hair of the victim and also struck the complainant with a package of coffee grounds in the face. The complainant suffered minimal injuries in the assault. The man was arrested at 1:20 this morning.

CAUGHT ON TAPE

A dumpster fire at the rear of northern Breweries on Bay Street is being treated as suspicious this morning. At 1:20 this morning patrol officers responded to the fire call that the fire dept. was able to extinguish. Officers were able to view security tapes from near by businesses and believe someone fled the area just prior to the fire being reported. This investigation is continuing
