Today the Sault Ste Police Service will be continuing with search operations in an attempt to locate Mr. Joseph (“Joey”) Turco, age 23. Yesterday, March 24th the Sault Ste Marie Police Service along with the O.P.P. ERT (Emergency Response Team), the O.P.P. helicopter and the Sault Search and Rescue all carried out extensive searches with negative results. The search area continues to be focused in the eastern area of Hiawatha Park.

Anyone with any knowledge of Mr. Turco’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Sault Ste Marie Police Service at 949-6300 EXT 210.

Male to appear in bail court

Yesterday morning city police arrested 28-year-old Oliver Cere, of no fixed address, on three counts of breach of recognizance. It is alleged that in November 2009 the accused breached his recognizance release orders by being out past his curfew.

Female arrested for theft under $ 5,000

Yesterday afternoon city police attended at the Station Mall Zellers and arrested a female for theft under
$ 5,000. It is alleged that Kathy Harrison, 46-year old, of 314 Albert St. E. Apt #6 stole shampoo valued at
$12.98 from the Zellers Store. She will be appearing in court on April 26th.

Young person arrested for assault

Yesterday afternoon city police arrested a 15-year-old male and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that yesterday afternoon the accused assaulted a fellow student, at a local high school, by shoving and punching the victim. The victim did not require medical attention for his injuries. The accused will be appearing in court on April 27th.

Male arrested for breach of probation

Yesterday afternoon city police were called to the Station Mall regarding a person refusing to leave. It is alleged that the accused, Dylan Doyon, age 18 of 50 Fish Hatchery Rd. was on a probation order release with conditions to not attended at the Station Mall and to keep the peace and be good. The accused breached his release by attending at the Station Mall and by failing to keep the peace. The accused will be appearing in court on April 26th.

Break and Enter

A residence in the 100 block of Campbell Ave was entered- electronics were stolen.

Mischief

A window at a residence in the 100 block of March St. was broken.
Vehicles were damaged in the following locations:
The 100 block of Dennis St.
The 100 block of Great Northern Rd.
The 400 block of Queen St. E.
The 100 block of Brock St. – vehicle window broken and purse stolen.
