Robbery Charge
Yesterday morning at approx. 10:30 AM City Police were called to attend at Merritt’s Pharmacy, 341 Wellington St.W. regarding a robbery. It is alleged that a male person entered the pharmacy, selected an item from the shelf and was attempting to leave the store without paying for the item. When the store clerk stopped him the accused used force on the clerk to escape. The accused was located a short distance from the store by City Police. The accused, David Edward Park, age 41, of 70 East St. apt 1702 will be appearing in court on Monday July 24th at 9:00 AM on a charge of Robbery.
Robbery Charge #2
Last night at approx. 6:20 PM City Police were called to attend at Collings Variety, located at 741
Wellington St. E. regarding a shoplifting offence. It is alleged that the accused person was assaulting the shop owner when the police officers arrived. As a result the accused was restrained, arrested and charged with Robbery. The accused, Janice Laforge, age 35, of 78 Bloor St. W., was initially arrested for theft under $ 5,000.00, but the charge was changed to robbery when the accused used force, on the storeowner, in an attempt to escape. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.
Several Charges Laid
A 43-year-old male was arrested yesterday morning and charged with Breach of Recognizance, Assault and Forcible Confinement. It is alleged that on June 20th the accused attended at the victim’s address, and while there he assaulted and detained the victim. At the time of these offences the accused was on conditions not to molest or harass or attend at the victim’s address. The victim did not require medical assistance as a result of the assault. The victim and accused were known tone another. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.
Cleaner Charged with Theft
Yesterday afternoon City Police arrested a 28 year old female and charged her with Theft Under
$ 5,000.00. It is alleged that the accused did, between February and May of this year, steal a quantity of money from the Columbus Club. At the time of the theft the accused had been employed as a cleaner for the Columbus Club. The accused, Jennifer Tomljanovich, age 28, of 277 Northern Ave. E. will be appearing in court on Monday July 17th at 9:00 AM.
Collision results in Charges
At approx. 12:10 PM yesterday afternoon City Police attended at the intersection of Second Line W. and Goulais Ave. regarding a motor vehicle collision with injuries. It is alleged that a vehicle that was being driven south on Goulais Ave., by Tracey Smith, age 36, failed to stop for the red traffic signal at Second Line W. and struck a westbound vehicle. 42-year-old Roberta Hackett operated the second vehicle. A passenger in Ms Smith’s vehicle was transported to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. Tracey Smith has been charged with Disobey Red Light Fail to Stop.
Possesion of Property Obtained by Crime
Yesterday afternoon City Police arrested three persons and charged them with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. It is alleged that the three accused did have in their possession property that was reported stolen from two break and enters. The accused are alleged to have had in their possession electronic and camera equipment. They are also charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
(A canister of Bear Spray). Charged are:
1.Teena Gilstrap, age 21, of 109 Wellington St.W. apt # 1.
2. Alan Steven Bertrand, age 21, of 6 Linden Dr. Heyden.
3.Caleb Bleue, age 22, of 109 Wellington St.W. apt # 1.
All three are charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – 3 counts each and one count of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. They will be appearing in court on Monday July 10th at 9:00 AM.
