On June 11th City Police received a complaint of a domestic assault in the downtown area. Investigation revealed that a male and his common-law girlfriend were arguing in their apartment. The argument escalated to the point where the male pushed the victim down and grabbed her around her neck. The accused was charged with assault and will be appearing in Bail Court June 12th.
On June 11th, 54 year old Michael Sweeney of Kohler St. was arrested on outstanding charges of possession of a narcotic, possession of stolen property and breaching a condition of his probation order respecting being of good behaviour. These charges were as a result of an incident from May 22nd, 2015. The accused appeared in Bail Court earlier today.
On June 10, 2015 shortly after 2 p.m., city police attended in the 200 block of Shannon Road for an attempt break and enter. It appears of the would-be thieves were scared off after damaging the door.
On June 10, 2015 just before 4 p.m. city police attended on Poplar for break and enter. It is unknown this time if anything was taken from the residence.
On June 10, 2015 just before 8 p.m., city police attended in the 200 block of McNabb Street for break and enter. Entry was gained between June 5 and June 10. Items taken include a PS 4, a gold ring and a MacBook Pro.
On June 10, 2015 at 10:30 p.m., city police arrested and charged a 25-year-old male in relation to a domestic assault investigation. It is alleged that on this date, the male assaulted his female partner at their residence by pushing her to the ground causing an injury to her head. He will be appearing in Bail Court on June 11, 2015.
On June 11, 2015 at 2:05 a.m., city police arrested Jessica Pilot, 20 years, of Dennis Street on a Bench Warrant. It is alleged that Pilot failed to re-attend court on charges from earlier matters. She will be appearing in Bail Court on June 11, 2015.
