On July 9, 2015 at 11:52 a.m., a Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Cruiser and motorist were involved in a motor vehicle collision on Great Northern Rd. at Wawanosh Ave.

On July 9, 2015 at 11:52 a.m., a Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Cruiser and motorist were involved in a motor vehicle collision on Great Northern Rd. at Wawanosh Ave. At the time of the collision, the police cruiser was responding to an emergency call. The cruiser was southbound on Great Northern Rd., while the Nissan sedan was eastbound on Wawanosh Ave. The officer was taken to Sault Area Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and subsequently released.  The other driver was not injured. The investigation of the collision is continuing.

On July 8, 2015, city police received a call from a male subject that wanted to turn himself in on an outstanding warrant for breach of recognizance. It is alleged that the accused was supposed to report to a local agency and did not. City police attended and arrested Jacques Paul Pellerin age 25 on the power of the warrant. The accused will appear in Bail Court on July 9, 2015 at 10 a.m.

On July 8, 2015, city police were in the area of the Station Mall and notice a male and female walking on the board walk. The male was known to officers and a check of the male resulted in his arrest. There was an outstanding warrant for breaching a recognizance (curfew). The male, age 31, was arrested and will appear in bail court on July 9, 2015 at 10 a.m. The recognizance was in place as a result of domestic matters.

City police responded to a theft call at the LCBO in the Station Mall. On attending police met with mall security. Security had a female in custody for theft under $5,000. It is alleged that the accused stole approximately $55 of alcohol products and left the store. Police continued the arrest and charged the accused Darlene Alison Southwind age 49 with theft under $5,000. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on August 10, 2015 at 9 a.m.

On July 8, 2015, city police observed a vehicle parked in the rear of a local restaurant. On approaching the vehicle a strong odor of a narcotic could be detected. Further investigation revealed that the occupant was in possession of a quantity of alleged marijuana. The accused Charles Raposo, age 20, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on August 10, 2015 at 9 a.m.
