Just after 12 noon yesterday, city police attended in the 500 block of Parliament Street after receiving a 911 call regarding a break and enter.

Just after 12 noon yesterday, city police attended in the 500 block of Parliament Street after receiving a 911 call regarding a break and enter. Upon arrival officers learned that the homeowner had returned home and entered their residence through the front door. As they entered their residence a male ran out the side door of the home. A neighbour observed the male leaving the residence and alerted the homeowner who called police.   

Several officers attended in the area as well as Police Service Dog Justice who attempted to track the suspect with negative results. The only description of the male is that he tall and lanky and was wearing a white t-shirt and a blue ball cap. It does not appear that anything was taken.

On the 23rd of July, 2014 at 9 p.m., officers on patrol observed a male wanted on outstanding warrants in the area of Arbor Drive. The male, upon seeing police fled into a heavily wooded area to avoid capture. With the assistance of the K-9 unit, officers successfully located and apprehended the wanted male. 43-year-old Ralph James Carricato of Arbor Drive was arrested and charged with 2 outstanding theft charges from March and May 2014, as well as failing to appear for court in June 2014.  Once in custody, officers located illegal drugs in his possession and he faces 2 additional charges of Possession of a Controlled Drug and one charge of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. He will appear in bail court on July 24, 2014. 

On the 24th of July, 2014 at 12:05 a.m., police received a report of a break and enter in progress in the 600 block of McNabb Street. Upon arrival, police apprehended a male exiting the break and enter location. Charged with Break and Enter and Possession of Stolen Property is 23-year-old Tyler Richmond Keith Pelletier of Wellington Street East. He will appear in bail court on the 24th of July, 2014. 

At 2 a.m. police responded to a report of mischief to a window at the Indian Friendship Center on East Street. Police located and arrested 47-year-old Joseph Sutherland of Letcher Street for mischief for smashing a window valued at approximately $300. He will appear in court on August 25, 2014.
