3 Charged Regarding Mischief to Vehicles
At approx. 3:30 AM this morning City Police were dispatched to Douglas St. near Prentice Ave in regards to persons causing mischief to vehicles. En route to the location the officers were given a description of the suspects. The officers subsequently located three persons matching the description. Through the investigation of the officers it is alleged that the three were responsible for the mischief. As the officers were in the process of arresting the male the two females began to obstruct and assault the officers. All three were subsequently arrested and charged with the following:
1 Justin Colin Day, of 601 Douglas St. is charged with Mischief, Breach of an Undertaking X 2.and Being itoxicated in a Public Place.
2. Courtinie Schapiro,of 16 Alden Rd. She is charged with Mischief, Obstruct Police and Being Intoxicated in a Public Place.
3. Jaclyn Michelle Hurst, of 36 Nichol Ave. is charged with Mischief, Obstruct Police, Assault Police and Being Intoxicated in a Public Place.
Attempted Break and Enter
At approx. 12:55 AM this morning City Police were dispatched to Prince Charles School on Northern Ave in regards to an alarm. Upon arrival officers found that a break and enter had occurred and that a microwave was thrown through a window. Officers also found a quantity of blood at the scene. It is believed that the person responsible may have injured himself or herself. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Crimestoppers or the Sault Ste Marie City Police.
Stolen Vehicle
At approx. 5:20 AM this morning Police were advised of a stolen vehicle from overnight. Complainant reported that their 2001 Chev Impala, black in colour was stolen from the 100 block of Turner Ave. The licence plate on the vehicle is ANYP 100. Anyone seeing this vehicle is asked to contact the police.
Mischief to Vehicles
There were two reports of mischief to vehicles from overnight. One incident took place in the 100 block of Smale Ave and the second took in the 900 block of Queen St.E.
Fighting with Baseball Bats
Early this morning the City Police were called to attend the area of John St. and Wellington St. W. in regards to people fighting with baseball bats. One person, injured in this incident was taken to hospital and later released. The City Police Detective Office is investigating the incident.
