On the 18th of July a resident in the 100 block of Prentice Avenue reported that his vehicle had been entered overnight and some keys and $20 worth of change were stolen.

At approximately 9:00 am this morning a female called police to a residence in the 1500 block of Trunk Road regarding having been assaulted by her bother. She reported that he had pulled her hair and punched her. It was also discovered that the male had outstanding warrants for mischief, possession of stolen property and failing to attend court when he was a youth in 2011. He will be appearing in adult court to face one count of assault on August 19th and will be in youth court on August 20th to answer to the warrants.

A nurse working at the Sault Area Hospital reported that between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. this morning all four tires on her vehicle were slashed and the vehicle scratched.

27 year old Paul Stanghetta of 130 Poplar Avenue was arrested and charged with one count of theft under $5000. It is alleged that on July 18th the accused was in the Wal-Mart store in the station mall where he selected some two way radios and cologne and left the store without paying. The total value of the goods was $154.70. He was apprehended by store security and police and will be appearing in court on August 19th.

Morning news:

On July 17th at approximately 3:00 pm City Police officers attended to 200 block of Albert Street East regarding a disturbance between a male and female known to each other. The 28 year old female in question was asked to leave the area by the officers but she refused to do so and began to yell and swear at the officers. She also kicked one of the officers in the leg at this time. She was arrested for obstruct and resist arrest and will be appearing in Provincial Court on August 19th.

A 21 year old male was arrested Wednesday afternoon after it was alleged he assaulted his girlfriend on the 16th of July. The details of the assault included him grabbing and twisting her arm behind her back. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court on July 18th.

41 year old Clinton Perreault  of no fixed abode was arrested and charged with one count of theft. It is alleged that on July 17 the accused was at Wal Mart in the Station Mall where he left without paying for a shopping cart full of merchandise. He is scheduled to appear in Bail Court.

A 43 year old male was charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation.  It is alleged that he was involved in assaulted his girlfriend and also violated a probation order with the condition of not to consume alcohol. He is scheduled to appear in Bail Court

36 year old Shannon Bailey-Purvis of 539 North St. was arrest and charged with theft under. It is alleged on July 17 she attended at the LCBO in the station mall where she stole a bottle of Beefeater Gin. She is scheduled to appear in court on August 19.
