Two Arrested after Search Warrant Executed at Downtown Residence
On the 2nd of February at 1:30 pm the Sault Ste. Marie Police Street Team, assisted by the OPP Canine Unit, executed a search warrant at 7 Queen Street East, apartment #7. Located during the search were two double bladed push knives that opened with centrifugal force, making them prohibited weapons. As result the resident, 39 year-old Jason Boyer was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a weapon while prohibited and one count of breach of probation. At the time he was on probation to keep the peace and be good.

A female at the residence was found in possession of one gram of cocaine. As a result, 36 year-old Cyrstal L’Heureux of 75 James Street (rear apt.) was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. They are both to appear in court on the 7th of March.

Three Shoplifting Arrests
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service charged three shoplifters yesterday with theft under $5,000. All are to appear in court on the 7th of March:
1) Shelbie Zaldiner, age 19, of 345 St. Georges Avenue East (apt. 130) arrested at 5:30 pm at Metro in the Churchill Plaza for allegedly stealing a bag of groceries from the store.
2) Shawn Butt, age 20, of 110 Eastern Avenue arrested at 5:46 pm at Food Basics on Trunk Road for allegedly stealing some meat products from the store.
3) Christopher Moar, age 28, of 138 East Street (apt. 311) arrested at 5:15 pm at the Metro Churchill Plaza for allegedly stealing some groceries from the store.

Garage Break and Enter
A garage on Young Street was broken into on the 2nd of February. Two snow machines and a dirt bike were reported stolen. The Stolen Items are the following:
1) A 2009 Polaris 800 Dragon SP. snow machine, white in colour,with purple metal, zebra white black stripes with blue Polaris on side.
2) 2007 Arctic Cat F5 LXR snow machine, orange in colour.
3) A Yamaha 250YZ Dirt Bike, blue in colour, with a red painted frame, the word ‘Hooker’ spelled on the shocks.
4) Two Helmets – one blue Fox , the other was a white one.
5) Goggles
6) Fishing Equipment – 5 fishing rods

Residence Break In Enter
A Residence in the 600 block of Albert Street East was entered overnight on the 2nd of February. A Dremel tool kit, jewellery clothing were reported stolen.
