Update on Missing Person
Last evening just after 8 pm City Police received information that the vehicle associated with missing persons Stacy Lucian Dilenardi was located up in the bush area approximately 15 kilometres up Connor Road.
Officers from the Sault Ste. Marie City Police Service, the Ontario Provincial Police Service and the Anishinabek Police Service attended in the area last evening and conducted a search of the area with the assistance of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service K-9 unit. Attempts to locate Mr. Dilenardi last night were negative and the search was temporarily halted just after 2 am due to falling snow and lack of visibility.
The Ontario Provincial Police are continuing to search for Mr. Dilenardi in this area today. If you know of his whereabouts or have had contact with him, call the City Police at 949-6300 ext. 210.
The Ontario Provincial Police and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are continuing to work together to locate Mr. Dilenardi.
2 Domestic Violence Calls
On the 30th of November just before 3 am it is alleged that a 36-year old male attended at the residence of his ex-wife and when she answered the door he pushed his way into the downtown residence. The accused began yelling for the children in the residence and then pulled out the phone cord from the wall and smashed some of the victim’s glassware. One of the children fled the home and had a neighbour call the police. The male was gone on police arrival but attended at the station just after 8:30 am yesterday morning and turned himself in. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with a number of conditions. The male has been charged with one count of assault and four counts of breach of probation.
A 28-year old male was arrested yesterday and charged with one count of threatening. It is alleged that on the 29th of November the accused called his ex-girlfriend and threatened to burn down her downtown residence. The accused turned himself into police yesterday afternoon.
Last evening just before 9 pm City Police were called to the Algoma Steel parking lot on West street. It is alleged that 2 youths were caught going through the vehicles by Steel Plant Security. A 14-year old youth was dealt with under the youth referral option under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. A 16-year old youth was charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and two counts of breach of probation. This youth will appear in court on January 3rd, 2006.
Break and Enters
Yesterday morning City Police took a report of a break and enter to a building located at 1550 Queen Street East, the property of Algoma University. The building was entered between 6:30 am on the 29th of November and 7:30 am on the 30th of November. Thieves made off with 2 lap top computers.
