On April 9, 2015 23-year-old Dana Steffler of Goulais Ave. attended the Police Services Building to turn herself in on outstanding warrants.

On April 9, 2015 23-year-old Dana Steffler of Goulais Ave. attended the Police Services Building to turn herself in on outstanding warrants.  It is alleged Steffler failed to attend court after being charged with having care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired back in February of this year.  Steffler will be appearing in court May 27, 2015.

Sometime overnight a garage in the 100 block of Churchill Ave was broken into. Suspects forced open a man door and made off with two GPS units and stereo equipment.

On April 8, 2015 at 7:15 p.m., Sault Ste. Marie police officers arrested 60-year-old Linda Karchie of James Street. It is alleged that from October 2014 to present the accused has been repeatedly harassing the victim. Further on today’s date the accused also threatened to cause injury to the victim. The accused has been charged with criminal harassment and threatening to cause bodily harm. Karchie will appear in court on May 11.

On April 8, 2015 Sault Ste. Marie police officers charged a 15-year-old young male offender with possession of stolen property. When the young offender returned home after being out he was found to be in possession of a wallet that had been stolen earlier. Police were contacted and charged the offender. The young offender will appear in court on May 12.

On April 9, 2015 shortly after 3 a.m., a problem has occurred with Shaw and the 911 emergency calling systems. Subscribers to Shaw are advised that calls placed to 911 are being routed out of the province. Shaw is aware of the problem and working on correcting the issue. It is expected to be resolved in 2 – 5 hours.
