K-9 UNIT CALLED IN A 31 year-old Vancouver man will appear in bail court this morning after a police pursuit early this morning. At approximately 12:46 this morning city police were notified by the O.P.P.
K-9 UNIT CALLED IN

A 31 year-old Vancouver man will appear in bail court this morning after a police pursuit early this morning. At approximately 12:46 this morning city police were notified by the O.P.P. that a vehicle that had been reported stolen the previous evening from Sudbury was heading west from the Garden River area towards the city. City police officers attempted to stop the vehicle at the city limit but the driver evaded them and the pursuit continued into the city.

The vehicle then traveled south on Boundary Road at a high rate of speed, turned onto Headway Street and entered a driveway on Glenn Avenue and came to a stop when it struck a tree. The lone occupant fled the scene on foot but was apprehended a short time later when patrol officers were assisted by the police service K-9 unit.

In police custody is Sean Douglas McDonald of 2721 Triumph Street in East Vancouver British Columbia. He is charged with possession of stolen property, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police. There was light damage reported to the stolen vehicle.

MISSING 13-YEAR-OLD FOUND

13 year-old missing boy Kodey Edwards was located at 7:30 last night. Patrol officers located him at a local residence and Edwards is in good condition.

TRAFFICKING CHARGES LAID

A vehicle stop in the area of West Street and Queen Street West resulted in the arrest of 2 local residents. Charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime are 47 year-old James Gilbert of 2-680 Portage Lane and 34 year-old Sharon Chamings of 28 St. Georges Avenue East.

Gilbert and Chamings are alleged to have been in possession of a half-gram of cocaine and 29 pills of oxycontin. Street value of the drugs is $775.00. Drug unit officers also seized a large amount of cash in the arrest. Both persons are scheduled to appear in court on May 10th.

ASSAULT CHARGE LAID

29 year-old Shawn Andrew Lewis of 12 Digby Crescent will appear in court on May 10th after being charged with assault. Lewis is alleged to have slapped another male in the face and in committing the assault breached his probation order by not keeping the peace and being of good behavior. No injuries were reported.

DEATH THREATS MEAN ARREST

A 23 year-old male will appear in bail court this morning after being charged with 3 counts of threatening death and 1 count of breach of probation from an incident that occurred on the 6th of April.

The accused is alleged to have threatened the complainant and another resident of the house where the complainant lives. The accused then made another call to the complainant’s residence and made another death threat. The accused is also on a probation order to keep the peace and to be of good behavior.

TURNS SELF IN TO POLICE

35 year-old Sonny James Lefebvre of 69 Terrance Avenue was arrested and charged last evening with threatening death. It is alleged that Lefebvre attended at a residence close to his and threatened the complainant and the complainant’s dogs. At approximately 9:45 last evening the accused turned himself in at the city police station and is scheduled to appear in court on May 10th
