18 year-old Mitchell Sim of 336 First Avenue will appear in court on June 14th after being charged with theft under $5000. Sim is alleged to have entered the LCBO store on Second Line West, then took a bottle of whiskey from the shelf and left the store without paying for the liquor. Sim was apprehended by store staff and then turned over to city police officers.

LETS HER FINGERS DO THE WALKIN’

30 year-old Heather Rivers of 180 Glasgow Avenue has been charged with theft under $5000 and will appear in court on June 14th. Rivers is alleged to have entered the electronic section of the Zellers store in the Station Mall, conceal 2 cell phones in her purse and upon exiting the store, set off the electronic security alarm. Rivers was apprehended by security staff and turned over to city police officers. The phones were valued at $299.94 for the pair.

CASHING CHEQUE NOT A GOOD THING

A young offender will appear in court on June 1st after being charged yesterday with uttering a forged document. The young person is alleged to have entered the Money Mart store to cash a cheque. When a store employee attempted to verify the validity of the cheque they learned that a cheque had not been issued to the accused. The accused young person is also on probation to keep the peace and to be of good behavior. The young offender faces charges of uttering a forged document and breach of probation.

2 BREAK-INS

2 residential break and enters were reported yesterday. In the 400 block of Wilson Street a residence was entered between 9am and 12 noon. The culprit ransacked the house and it appears that a couple pieces of crystal were taken. At 2pm yesterday a break-in was reported to a residence in the 100 block of Val Street. It is reported that a small amount of jewelry was taken from the residence after the suspects forced their way into the residence
