On April 2, 2015 at approximately 12:30 pm City Police located the accused Brett Bruce Warnock, age 36 of 57 Jemmette Street, in the downtown area.

On April 2, 2015 at approximately 12:30 pm City Police located the accused Brett Bruce Warnock, age 36 of 57 Jemmette Street, in the downtown area.  A check of Warnock was done and it was found that there was an outstanding warrant for breaching probation. The accused was arrested and is scheduled to appear in court on May 4, 2015 at 9:00 am.

On April 2, 2015 at approximately 1:10 pm City Police located a male accused, age 33 in the downtown area that was wanted regarding domestic matters.  The charges stem from an incident that occurred on April 1, 2015.  The accused is charged with assault causing bodily harm, breach of probation X 3 and breach of a recognizance X 6.  A further charge of breach of probation (not keeping the peace and being of good behaviour) and breach of a recognizance for consuming alcohol when the accused was ordered by the courts not consume alcohol.  The accused is scheduled to appear in bail court on April 7, 2015 at 10:00 am.

On April 2, 2015 at approximately 2:20 pm City Police arrested an accused that had been put on probation regarding a domestic matter. The accused male age 31 was arrested on an outstanding warrant for breach of probation X 2.  The accused is scheduled to appear in court on May 4, 2015 at 9:00 am.

On April 1 a wallet containing money and identification was stolen from a vehicle parked on Pim Street. The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to remind the public not to leave items of value in your vehicle. The time it takes to bring your valuables in is much quicker than the time it will take to replace your items-especially personal identification.

On the evening of April 1 a break and enter to a residence in the 500 block of Pine Street was reported. It is unknown at this time what was taken.

Update Information to Arson:

On the 2nd of April just after midnight a 911 was received regarding a fire. Witnesses in the area observed a male smash the window of a 2012 Mazda parked in a driveway on Gilles Avenue. Fire Services attended at extinguished the fire. The interior of the vehicle was damaged.

The male suspect is described as being light to average build, wearing a dark coloured spring jacket or hoodie and blue jeans. The investigation is ongoing.

On April 1 at approximately 8 a.m., city police officers arrested 44-year-old Jerry Leveille of Brien Avenue with multiple offences. It is alleged that the accused entered a residence in the 100 block of Wilcox Avenue and demanded cash and drugs while pointing a handgun at several people in the residence. Leveille is facing charges of Break and Enter, Robbery, Pointing a Firearm, Possession of Weapon Dangerous to the Public and Breaching a Weapons Prohibition order. He will be appearing in Bail Court on April 2. The investigation into this matter is continuing by members of the Detective branch.

A 38-year-old male was arrested by city police officers last night and charged with domestic related assault and mischief in their residence. It is alleged he assaulted his common-law wife by grabbing her wrist and neck and also damaged her cell phone. He will be appearing in Bail Court later this morning.

30-year-old Ken Knox of Gloucester Street attended to the City Police Station on April 1 and turned himself in on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear for court from March 23. He was also charged with breaching a condition of an undertaking which required him to notify police of any change of address which he failed to do. He will be appearing in Provincial Court May 4.

City police patrol officers, Emergency Services Unit members and the Canine Unit attended to a car fire at a west end residence last night. It is alleged that a person or persons attended to the residence and threw something into the vehicle to cause it to catch fire. The investigation is continuing.
