FRAUD, THEFT CHARGES LAID 52 year-old David Stanley Belaire of 1 Pim Street is scheduled to appear in court on May 17th after being charged with fraud, theft and uttering a forged document.
FRAUD, THEFT CHARGES LAID

52 year-old David Stanley Belaire of 1 Pim Street is scheduled to appear in court on May 17th after being charged with fraud, theft and uttering a forged document. It is alleged that on the 5th of March the accused stole 2 cheques from a female victim then filled out the cheques payable to him and deposited them into his account. On March 8th he withdrew the money. A large sum of money was involved.

DRUG UNIT OFFICERS CONDUCT SEARCH

22 year-old James Aaron Reynolds of 385 First Avenue was arrested and charged with production of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance after drug unit officers searched his residence yesterday afternoon. Officers located what is believed to be 2 marihuana plants and a small grow operation in Mr. Reynolds bedroom. Street value of the plants is $2000. Mr. Reynolds will appear in court on May 17th.

SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES

Samuel Alexander Corbett age 19 of 265 James Street will appear in court on May 17th after being charged with assault, sexual interference, sexual assault and forcible confinement. It is alleged that between the 1st of October 2003 and November 17th 2003 that the accused sexually assaulted a young victim.

It is also alleged that on the 12th of April 2004 the accused assaulted his victim by grabbing the victim and not allowing the victim to leave the building where they were when the victim wanted to leave. A young offender has also been arrested and charged in this incident. The young person is alleged to have assaulted the victim by grabbing and dragging the victim, attempting to remove the victim from a building where the victim was trying to call police and assisted in the unlawful confinement.

The same young person breached their recognizance by not notifying police of a change in address and by communicating with a person on the 1st of April that the young person is not permitted to communicate with. A court date of May18th has been set for the young offender.

TAKES ON POLICE AND CAS WORKER

51 year-old Bonnie Montgomery of 39 Sunnydale Drive has been charged with obstructing police, assaulting police and assault after an incident at the General Hospital yesterday at approximately 4 pm. It is alleged that the accused would not comply with police requests with regards to an investigation they were assisting the CAS with. A struggle ensued and Ms. Montgomery is alleged to have kicked and punched 3 officers and a CAS worker. No injuries were reported. Ms. Montgomery will appear in court on May 17th.

YOUNG OFFENDER CHARGED

A young offender was charged with break and enter to a shed in the 400 block of Morin Street yesterday evening. The accused is alleged to have entered the shed and stole a snowboard. Officers attended and located the accused at a residence next door to where the incident occurred and in possession of the stolen property. The accused was also in the company of a person that there was to be no communication or association with by order of a recognizance. The young person is scheduled to appear in bail court this morning.

BOYS PLAYING WITH KNIVES

26 year-old Darcy Lebel of no fixed address will appear in bail court this morning after an incident last night on Portage Lane. Lebel is alleged to have attended at an apartment on Portage Lane and got into an altercation with another male. During the altercation Mr. Lebel is reported to have stabbed the other man in the side of the head with a knife causing a superficial wound. It is not known if the victim received medical treatment. During the investigation Lebel obstructed police by using a false name.
