Officers with the Sault Police Service charged Nicholas Stavlic, 70, with three counts of assault on Sunday, after a delivery driver was slapped in the face, pushed, and had food thrown at them.

The assault took place at a business in the 200 block of Great Northern Road on Friday, police said.

A media release said an investigation revealed the accused became angry with the food delivery worker.

Stavlic, who is from Thunder Bay, and the worker did not know each other. The victim sustained minor physical injuries.

He was located and arrested by police and has since been released on an undertaking.

Stavlic is scheduled to appear in court on April 28.

None of the allegations have been tested in court, and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
