Monday was a rough day at work for a group of employees at a Great Northern Road business.

Sault Police say a man is facing multiple charges after punching three employees in the head during an altercation that began at around 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 11 and the undisclosed business.

“An investigation revealed the accused had become aggressive with a staff member, grabbing them by the neck and punching them in the head,” says a news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. “When this victim was able to get away, the accused attacked another staff member and punched them in the head multiple times. When a third staff member attempted to intervene, the accused punched them in the head as well.”

The victims were able to detain the attacker in a room until officers arrived, police say.

Two victims sustained minor physical injuries, with one being transported to hospital.

Daniel Chiasson, 41, is charged with:

  • Assault x2
  • Assault Causing Bodily Harm
  • Causing a Disturbance

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled back in court on Jan. 20, 2025.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Chiasson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
