Three charged after police find suspected meth, fentanyl during vehicle search

On Jan. 28, 2020, officers with Patrol Services arrested 29-year-old Jonathan Briault-Dewar, 29-year-old Candice Grassie, and 25-year-old Michael Hogan-Denis.

Around noon on Jan. 28, 2020, officers observed a vehicle in the east end of the city with no plates. Officers conducted a traffic stop and determined the vehicle was stolen from a business on Great Northern Road overnight on Jan. 24 or 25. All three of the accused were in the vehicle and arrested.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located a quantity of narcotics believed to be methamphetamine and fentanyl.

Mr. Briault-Dewar is charged with one count of possession of stolen property, one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of breach of recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 24, 2020.

Ms. Gassie is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of a possession of stolen property. She is scheduled to appear in court on March 16, 2020.

Mr. Hogan-Denis is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of stolen property, two counts of breach of probation and one count of driving while suspended. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 9, 2020.
