A 34-year-old is accused of stealing from a local business, threatening to harm staff and providing a false name to police.

On Jan. 13 at around 6:30 p.m., Sault Police were dispatched to a theft call in the 600 block of Great Northern Road.

Officers were told that when staff confronted the alleged thief, the person “threatened to return to the business and harm them” and then left with the stolen item.

Located nearby, the suspect “identified themselves with a name later confirmed to be false,” police allege.

Tyler Dunn is charged with:

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Uttering Threats
  • Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled back in court on March 11, 2024.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Dunn is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
