A 17-year-old is accused of breaking into a local business.
A security alarm brought Sault Ste. Marie Police to the 500 block of Great Northern Road at 3:10 a.m. today.
Arriving officers noticed property damage and then found the suspect nearby.
They say the teen tried to run off, but didn’t get far.
The 17-year-old is charged with:
- Break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence
- Obstructing a peace officer
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 29.
The identity of the suspect is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
