SUV crashes through pharmacy window on Great Northern (update)

Emergency crews on scene

1 p.m. update:
SooToday has been informed that The Medicine Shoppe pharmacy remains open following this incident, and customers can access the business via the side entrance.

Original information:
A small SUV crashed through the front window of The Medicine Shoppe pharmacy on Great Northern Road this morning.

Firefighters, paramedics and police were on scene. Little is known about the crash that left a blue Hyundai Tucson wedged partway through the opening it appears to have created. Firefighters were cutting through the window bars when SooToday arrived.

By 10:50 a.m. the vehicle had been removed from the scene by tow truck, revealing the damage to the building's windows and surrounding brickwork.

A manager for the store, who asked not to be identified, told SooToday no one inside the building was injured and the two occupants of the vehicle were also not harmed.

SooToday will have more on this situation as information is available.
