One person was arrested early this morning after police responded to a call regarding a “suspicious person” going through vehicles in the 200 block of Reid Street.

“Officers located a person matching the description provided by the caller and identified them as the accused,” says a news release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. “They were placed under investigative detention.”

Responding officers found the suspect in possession of a wallet and GPS that had been reported stolen from Euclid Street, and a vehicle manual and ownership were located nearby.

As a result of this investigation, 24-year-old John Tremblay was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime.

Tremblay is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 25.
