Suspected mail thief busted by Sault Police

30-year-old suspect was arrested during a break-and-enter on Cathcart Street; police say officers uncovered stolen mail from ten individuals

Sault Police arrested a suspected mail thief who allegedly stole deliveries belonging to ten people, including a watch, gift cards, a credit card and a Passport.

At around 9 a.m. on Nov. 30, police responded to a report of a break-and-enter in progress in the 500 block of Cathcart Street. Officers found the suspect leaving the residence and placed them under arrest, police say.

A subsequent search of the suspect uncovered the stolen items, police allege.

Tasha Stone-Perron, 30 is charged with:

  • Break and Enter – Commit Indictable Offence
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5,000 x2
  • Possession of Credit Card
  • Possession of Article Stolen from Mail x10

Stone-Perron was held in court pending a bail hearing.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
