Suspected fentanyl seized during vehicle search

Accused was wanted on outstanding warrants, say police

On April 28, 2020 officers with Patrol Services arrested 30-year-old David Dyni on the strength of outstanding warrants.

At 10:12 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle the accused was a passenger in. At this time, officers discovered the accused was wanted for failing to attend for fingerprints. He was arrested on the strength of the warrant. During the subsequent search of the area of arrest, police located 3.3 grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl in the cup holder on the passenger side of the vehicle.

He is charged with breach of recognizance and possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 20, 2020.
