Police say a man has been arrested for theft under $5,000 after an incident that took place yesterday.
In a news release, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services alleges that the accused entered a McNabb Street business where he selected approximately $192 worth of items, hid them and attempted to leave without paying.
He was stopped by staff and held until officers showed up.
As a result, Jeffrey McDonald, 51, was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 5.
