One person has been charged after officers responded to a call regarding a break and enter on Gladstone Avenue yesterday morning.
Following a 911 call, “officers were dispatched to the residence and upon arrival spoke with someone inside the residence, later identified as the accused,” says a new release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. “A subsequent search found the accused to be in possession of a hatchet.”
Nothing was reported stolen.
As a result, 29-year-old Jody Burns was held in custody to await a bail hearing and stands charged with:
• Breaking and entering with intent
• Possession of break in instruments
