Attempt murder charge
On Saturday the 30th of October 2004 at approximately 11:37 p.m. a male person, age 41, approached police officers on foot in the area of Gore and Wellington Streets indicating that he had been stabbed.
Initial investigation revealed puncture wounds to the abdominal area consistent with some form of pointed instrument and contusions to the head and arm consistent with the application of some form of blunt trauma.
The injured person was transported to Sault Area Hospitals by Emergency Medical Services where he received treatment for what appears to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation took police to an address on St. Georges Avenue, here in Sault Ste. Marie, where after a short period of negotiation a 57-year-old female was taken into custody and charged accordingly.
A hammer and scissors have been seized by the police.
The accused will make a bail court appearance today (Sunday October 31).
Respecting the policy of releasing names in domestic incidents, investigated by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, the name of the victim or the accused will not form a part of this release.
