Afternoon news A resident in the 300 block of Cathcart Street reported that her car was keyed overnight. Sometime between midnight and 11:45 a.m., the vehicle was scratched in seven different areas. The investigation is ongoing.

A resident in the 300 block of Cathcart Street reported that her car was keyed overnight.  Sometime between midnight and 11:45 a.m., the vehicle was scratched in seven different areas.  The investigation is ongoing.

A resident in the 900 block of Queen Street East reported fishing rods and tackle stolen.  There was no forced entry and it is believed somebody else who had access to the home is responsible for the theft.

51 year old James Leclair of 67 Walnut Street was arrested at 10:00 this morning for three counts of breach of a recognizance.  It is alleged that Mr. Leclair was operating a motor vehicle while on conditions to not operate a motor vehicle, not occupy the drives seat of a motor vehicle and not possess keys to a motor vehicle.  He will appear in court on July 22nd.

On June 16, 2013 a 24 year old male was arrested and charged with assault and breach of probation regarding a domestic dispute in the east end of the city.  It is alleged that the male slapped his ex-girlfriend in the face and pushed her to the ground.  He will appear in WASH court on June 16, 2013.

On June 15, 2013, Lionel Taylor, 33, of 28B Wellington St. E., was arrested and charged with being unlawfully at large for failing to attend the ATRC to serve his intermittent sentence.  When Police advised Taylor he was under arrest, he fled on foot and was apprehended shortly after and was additionally charged with escape lawful custody.  The accused was also charged with theft under five thousand dollars regarding a stolen bike report taken by Police on June 13, 2013.  At the time of his arrest, Taylor was on probation with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.  He was also charged with Breach of Probation.

On June 15, 2013 Marlene St. Germain, 33, was arrested and charged with theft under five thousand dollars in regard to a shoplifting complaint at a Station Mall retailer.  At the time of the offence, St. Germain was on an undertaking with the condition not to attend at Station Mall.  She was also on probation order with the same condition.  As a result, she was also charged with breach of undertaking and breach of probation.  She will be appearing in WASH court on June 16, 2013.

On June 15, 2013 a 38 year old male was arrested and charged with two counts of assault,  forcible confinement and threaten death in relation to a domestic dispute in the north end of the city.  It is alleged that the accused confined his girlfriend to her bedroom, threatened to kill her and assaulted her by hitting her with a door and pulling her hair.  It is further alleged that he kicked her in the stomach.  These offences occurred between May 17 and June 13, 2013.  At the time of the offences, the accused was on a recognizance of bail with conditions not to communicate with the victim, physically interfere with her or attend at her residence.  As a result, he has further been charged with three counts of  breach of recognizance
