Afternoon news On the 15 June 2014 police responded to a two vehicle collision in the 200 block of Second Line West at about 4:15 AM. On arrival, police noted one of the drivers had been consuming alcohol and made a roadside demand.

On the 15 June 2014 police responded to a two vehicle collision in the 200 block of Second Line West at about 4:15 AM. On arrival, police noted one of the drivers had been consuming alcohol and made a roadside demand. The driver failed to provide a suitable sample of breath. Charged is Deborah Sample (age 51) of Goulais Ave. She will be appearing in court on the 14 July 2014 at 9:00 AM.

On the 15 June 2014 a male turned himself in to the City police. He was wanted on several outstanding warrants including assault x 5, possession of marihuana, breach of a recognizance and fail to appear court. The assault charges stem from a domestic related incident. The male will be appearing in bail court on Monday at 10:00 AM.

On the 15 June City Police responded to a domestic related call in the east end of the city. It is alleged a male grabbed his girlfriend and pinned her against a wall causing bruising to her arms. The male fled the area when police arrived. There were also several outstanding warrants for the man, including assault with a weapon, breach of a recognizance, fail to appear court and breach of a youth probation order. Police left the area for a short time and the man returned to the female’s address. He was arrested inside the residence on the officers’ return. He will be appearing in bail court Monday morning at 10:00 AM.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating missing person Patrick Budge (age 15yrs). He is described as 5’5” tall, 130 lbs, medium length brown hair. He was last seen wearing a grey Nike sweater, blue jeans and running shoes. He was also riding a new black bicycle. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Patrick Budge is asked to call the City Police at (705)949-6300.

On the 14th of June at 9:55pm City Police received a complaint of a possible impaired driver northbound on Great Northern Road.  Officers located the vehicle and noted that the driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. As a result of the investigation 73 year old Tuomo Vuorela of North Street was arrested and charged with Refusing to Provide a Breath Sample.  He will appear in court on July 14th, 2014. 
 
On the 15th of June at 12:10am City Police were conducting a RIDE Program.  Officers checked a vehicle and noted that the driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. As a result of the investigation 62 year old Edward Schill of Wellington Street East was arrested and charged with Impaired operation and over .80.  He will appear in court on July 21st, 2014.
