City police officers attended to a downtown residence early this morning regarding a domestic complaint. Investigation revealed that a 24-year-old male had caused damage to an apartment belonging to a female known to him.
City police officers attended to a downtown residence early this morning regarding a domestic complaint. Investigation revealed that a 24-year-old male had caused damage to an apartment belonging to a female known to him. The accused was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. He also breached 3 conditions of a recognizance which had him on a curfew, living at a specific residence and not to consume alcohol. He will be appearing in WASH court later today

On June  14, 2015, at 1 a.m. city police were called to Canada Customs regarding a young person from Manitoba who was detained at the port of entry. The male was identified and the investigation revealed that he was bound by the conditions of an undertaking to remain in the province of Manitoba, to abide by a 10 p.m. curfew and to keep the peace and be good. As a result, he was charged with three counts of breach of an undertaking. He will appear in WASH court on June 14, 2015.

On June 14, 2015 in the early afternoon residents in the 700 block of Second Line West contacted police regarding a treed bear. Police Officers were unable to have the bear leave the tree. Fearing the bear may harm the public, the Ministry of Natural Resources was contacted and the bear was tranquillized and relocated. The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to remind the public to be extremely cautious around areas that bears are found in or inhabit.
