The Sault Ste. Marie Police is currently investigating a shooting incident which occurred overnight in the west part of the city. On arrival police found two males that were both suffering gunshot wounds.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police is currently investigating a shooting incident which occurred overnight in the west part of the city. On arrival police found two males that were both suffering gunshot wounds. Both males have been transported to Sault Area Hospital and are in serious condition. Officers from the Criminal Investigation Office have taken over the investigation and the matter is continuing. No further information is being released at this time. The public should be aware that police have identified all parties involved in the incident who were known to each other and there is no concern for public safety.

On July 25, 2015 a male turned himself in at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service regarding a domestic matter. It is alleged that on July 24, 2015 the accused age 18 years, caused damaged to his ex-girlfriends vehicle.  The accused is scheduled to appear in court on August 26, 2015 at 9:30 am.

On July 26, 2015 a male driver was observed driving erratically on Wellington Street East.  It is alleged that the driver was found to be in the driver’s seat of the vehicle when police arrived at the Royal Bank on Wellington Street East.  Officers apprehended the male and arrested the accused for having care and control of a motor vehicle with more than 80 mg of alcohol in his blood.  The accused Mark David Shuttleworth, age 24, was taken to the station for a breath test. The accused is also charged with having care and control of a motor vehicle while being impaired.  The accused is scheduled to appear in court on August 31, 2015 at 9 a.m.
