At 8:00 p.m. on August 06, 2016 City Police attended at a residence in the 700 Block of Wellington east during the course of investigating the theft of a validation sticker.

At 8:00 p.m. on August 06, 2016 City Police attended at a residence in the 700 Block of Wellington east during the course of investigating the theft of a validation sticker.  Officers had occasion to observe the male suspect in his vehicle driving on Wellington St. with the sticker affixed on his vehicle.  When the vehicle was stopped the male suspect fled on foot.  He was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. The accused was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for impaired driving.  In addition, the accused was found to be on a court ordered probation that he not consume alcohol and was prohibited from driving a motor vehicle from an impaired conviction.  The 29 year old male has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, drive with over .08 milligrams of alcohol, driving a motor vehicle while prohibited, theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and breach of probation.  He is scheduled to appear in WASH (weekend and statutory holiday) bail court on August 7, 2016.
