Smashed glass found at more downtown storefronts on Sunday morning

The glass doors at two downtown storefronts were found smashed on Sunday morning

Sault Police were downtown early on Sunday responding to calls of more broken glass in storefronts. The scene in the 700-block of Queen Street East on Sunday was similar to one found the previous day at nearby Loplops, where glass had been shattered sometime during the night.

Police and downtown security were on the scene at about 8:15 a.m. Sunday, surveying the damage to the door of the Pop-Up Shop next door to the Rad Zone, as well as a vacant storefront directly across the street.

SooToday has reached out to Sault Police and the Downtown Association for comment.

“I wasn’t really surprised, just because there’s lots of stuff like that going on in the downtown," Loplops owner Steve Alexander told SooToday's James Hopkin on Saturday about the similar damage to his storefront.

SooToday will have more on this story as information becomes available.
