UPDATE: Serious injury in Tuesday's two-vehicle collision

Officers with Patrol Services and Traffic Services are currently investigating

A Sault Police spokesperson says one person received serious injuries as a result of a collision that occurred on Tuesday at the intersection of Second Line West and Allen's Side Road.

"The call came in just after 12 p.m. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospital; one with serious physical injuries, the other with minor physical injuries," said Lincoln Louttit, manager of corporate communications for the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.

Louttit said no charges have been laid and the investigation is ongoing.

Sault Police officers are investigating a collision that occurred at Second Line West at Allen’s Side Road at around 12:30 p.m. 

Second Line West was closed to traffic all afternoon. It reopened at 4:31 p.m. 

“Officers with Patrol Services and Traffic Services are currently investigating a two-vehicle collision,” police said in a release.

Two pickup trucks were involved in what appears to be a head-on collision.

“Community members are urged to take alternate routes if they are travelling in the area.”
