Sault teen faces sexual assault charge

Police say the accused also pointed a firearm at a person known to him

Sault Ste. Marie Police have charged a 17-year-old male with sexual assault.

According to a press release issued by the Police Service, the accused allegedly pointed a firearm at a person known to him on March 1, and later the same day, committed a sexual assault.

At 7:30 p.m. on March 8, police say they executed a search warrant at the accused's residence and located four replica airsoft firearms.

As a result, the accused was arrested and charged with sexual assault, pointing a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was held for bail court.
