Sault man accused of threatening police officers with a knife

Police say the accused first filled his vehicle with gas and drove away without attempting to pay

A 26-year-old Sault man has been accused of threatening police officers with a knife.

In a press release issued today, Sault Police say the incident took place when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Second Line on Monday.

Police say the accused first filled his vehicle with gas at a business in the 300 block of Great Northern Road and drove away without attempting to pay. Shortly afterwards, police say, the accused turned east on Second Line and cut off officers in a cruiser. It is alleged the officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle when the accused threatened officers with a knife and fled the area at a high rate of speed.

It is further alleged the accused also nearly struck a pedestrian in the area of Landslide Road.

The following day, officers responded to a call of a male assaulting someone in the 700 block of Great Northern Road. Officers responded and Luckee St. Pierre was arrested.

He is charged with dangerous operation, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, flight from police, uttering threats, assault and theft under $5,000.

He was held for bail court.
