Sault man accused of making purchases with a stolen credit card

Police say he made purchases in early December at three different businesses with a credit card that did not belong to him

On Jan. 8, 2020 officers with Patrol Services arrested 31-year-old Thomas Dietz of Trunk Road on outstanding warrants.

It’s alleged on Dec. 3, 2019 the accused attended a business in the 0-100 block of Trunk Road, and a business in the 400 block of Bruce Street and made purchases totaling approximately $90 using a credit card that didn’t belong to him.

It’s further alleged on Dec. 6, 2019 the accused attended a business in the 100 block of Churchill Boulevard, selected approximately $13 of items from the shelves and left without attempting to pay for them.

The accused was located on Jan. 8, 2020. He is charged with one count of possession of stolen property, two counts of using a stolen credit card, one count of theft under $5,000 and two counts of breach of probation. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 24, 2020.
