Sault man, 23, accused of threatening security guard with a syringe

The accused allegedly threatened security after being caught trying to leave a business with stolen items

Sault Ste. Marie Police say they've arrested someone for a plethora of crimes after an incident that took place earlier this week. 

Police say they responded to a call on Sunday after the accused was caught trying to leave a business in the 0-100 block of Great Northern Road with unpaid items. When approached by security, the accused allegedly threatened them with a syringe and security then called police. 

When searching the accused after his arrest, police say they found him to be in possession of a syringe and the item taken from the business. 

As a result Michael Huluk, 23, was arrested and charged with:

  • assault with a weapon,
  • uttering threats,
  • theft under $5000; and
  • breach of probation.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 26.
