Your City police Service has a full house this morning with 12 in custody for a variety of offences from breach of probation and liquor infractions to assault.


HOMICIDE DOWNTOWN
The major crimes unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is investigating what's believed to be a homicide that occurred late last night on Wellington Street East.

Around 11 p.m., police received word that two males were fighting in the downtown area. Emergency medical services personnel transported one person believed to have been involved in the fight to Sault Area Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Police are investigating one male person. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Police have secured a section of driveway on Wellington Street East behind a pickup truck with plastic sheeting.

ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES
Sergeant Levis Vallee reports that there was an accident with an injury at 7:59 last evening. One unidentified person was taken to hospital.

Christopher Paul MacLoed, age 26 of Ferguson Street was arrested and charged with impaired driving and failing to provide a breath sample. He was also charged with failing to remain at the scene and causing a disturbance.

One young person is in custody this morning after being caught in the act of breaking into a home on Albert Street West.
