A 24-year-old man and a male young person were picked up by City Police at Sault Area Hospital early this morning after they were allegedly bear-sprayed inside a residence on Boston Avenue.

Police say the owner of the house phoned them around 2:40 a.m. to report that he'd discovered two intruders inside his residence.

The pair is to appear in bail court today.

The 24-year-old adult is to be charged with breach of probation, police tell SooToday.com.

The young person will face charges of break and enter, two counts of breach of probation, two counts of possessing concealed weapons and one count of violating a weapons-possesion order.

Police say that two weapons - a pellet gun and a knife - were found in the possession of the young person.

The young person cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The name of the adult involved will be released after a formal charge has been laid.

Otherwise, City Police report a quiet night with a couple of drunk-and-disorderly and breach-of-the-peace cases.
