Patrol officers noticed an expired licence plate on a vehicle last evening. When they pulled the car over, they noticed an alcohol smell.

When Ron Broche, age 41 of 429 Laurier Avenue, was arrested on the impaired charge, it was discovered he had previous impaired charges for which there had allegedly been breaches of undertakings. Broche was charged with Impaired Driving.


ASSAULT
Patrol officers were called to a domestic dispute last night. When they arrived, one officer was assaulted by Gary McBride, age 37.

Sergeant John Frost of the Sault Police Service said McBride was arrested and charged. There were no injuries.


RENOVATIONS SCAM
Police have charged a Sault man with fraud as a result of occurrences between May 12 and May 29. It is alleged that Jari Makivirta accepted money from Sault residents for home renovations he neglected to perform.

Makivirta was apprehended in Wawa as he was heading west, with no apparent attempt to perform the contracted work. Officers from the Sault went to Wawa on Friday and escorted Makivirta back where he has been charged with fraud.


BREACHES
Police picked up Michael Radford, age 20, of 30 Weymus Street last night and charged him with the breach of several undertakings.
