Afternoon release: At approximately 5 am this morning an alert citizen in the west end of the city observed persons entering vehicles in his neighborhood.

Afternoon release:

At approximately 5 am this morning an alert citizen in the west end of the city observed persons entering vehicles in his neighborhood. He contacted City Police and a short time later, officers had 1 adult male and 3 male young offenders in custody. 18 year old Andrew Case of 15 Town Line Road in Desbarats was charged with trespassing by night and possession of stolen property. He will be appearing in Provincial Court on Jun 24th. The 3 youths were charged with trespassing by night. One of them was also charged with breaching conditions of a Probation order dealing with curfew and possession of alcohol and another was charged with possession of a narcotic. They will be appearing in Youth Court on June 11th.

A  23 year old male will be appearing in WASH Court tomorrow morning after he was arrested by City Police officers early this morning at a west end apartment. The accused was present at an apartment he was on conditions not to be at. He was also in the presence of a female person known to him when he was on conditions not to associate with her and he was also on conditions to keep the peace and be good. As a result he was charged with 3 counts of breaching his probation.

Morning release:

A residence in the 300 block of Bush Street was reported to have been broken into sometime on the 9th of May.  A rear door was kicked in.  Nothing appears to have been stolen from inside the home.

A work truck that was parked inside a garage in the 100 block of Poplar Ave was reported to have been broken into.  Approximately $3000 worth of copper wire and tools were reported stolen.

At approximately 7:00 p.m., police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Goulais Ave.   It is reported that a southbound vehicle lost control and hit the ditch resulting in both occupants being ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle also struck a hydro pole. Two people were transported to the hospital by ambulance.  The investigation is ongoing at this time.

A 48 year old male was arrested on an outstanding warrant for domestic assault and breach of probation.  It is alleged that in December of last year the accused assaulted his common law wife by punching her in the face causing swelling and bruising to her eye area.  At the time the accused was on probation with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.  He will be appearing in WASH (weekend and statutory holiday) court this morning.

18 year old Andrew Case of 15 Town Line Road, Desbarats, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.  It is alleged that on May 9ththe accused assaulted a male party known to him on two separate occasions, both times punching him in the head.  The accused will be appearing in court on June 17th.

A 15 year old male was arrested for one count of breach of probation.  Police were called to a disturbance and the 15 year old was found to be on probation with conditions not to be in the company of two other people involved in the disturbance.  He will be appearing in court on June 11th.
