Early evening release: A 29 year old male was arrested at 4:47 a.m. charged with 2 counts of mischief and an assault resulting from 2 domestic incidents.

A 29 year old male was arrested at 4:47 a.m. charged with 2 counts of mischief and an assault resulting from 2 domestic incidents.  On the 23rd of March 2013 Police attended Mac's Mary (McNabb Street) and spoke to a female complainant who advised she had a verbal argument with her boyfriend accused over her refusal to give him money for drugs. It is alleged that he got angry smashing an ashtray, punching holes in the wall and breaking a glass door in a cabinet. Police then attended the residence in the city’s north end eventually locating the accused hiding in a crawlspace in the basement. He was arrested for domestic mischief and brought to the station. Further investigation revealed that on the 5th of March 2013 the accused had smashed the phone of the complainant as well as holding her by the wrists in an attempt to keep her from leaving the residence.He will be in Bail Court on Monday.

A 31 year old male was arrested at 05:16 a.m. charged with assault resulting from a domestic incident. It is alleged that the assault occurred at approximately 4:50 a.m. in the downtown area. Police responded when a neighbour heard the male screaming at and assaulting the female victim. The victim was assaulted when the accused grabbed her wrists and held them together, climbed onto her shoulders with his knees and kept her pinned down. The victim continually tried to break free and once when she got her arms free she was also slapped across the face.  Police attended and heard the altercation and was able to assist the victim and arrest the accused. He will be in Bail Court on Monday.

A 32 year old male who was arrested at 02:47 a.m. this morning charged with mischief in a domestic incident was arrested again this afternoon at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre charged with disobey a court order.  The accused was remanded into custody after WASH court with an order prohibiting him from communicating with the victim and it is alleged that he made repeated calls to the victim from the jail.  He will be facing those additional charges in Bail Court on Monday.

Earlier Release:

Two persons arrested for stabbing overnight.Shortly after 11 am this morning officers from Investigation Services arrested two persons for this robbery. A 21-year old male has been charged with one count of robbery and three counts of breach of probation. A 16-year old female has been charged with one count of robbery.The male’s name will be released later today. 

The male victim remains in the hospital where he is being treated for non life threatening injuries.

The male victim had been confronted around 11:30 pm on the 21st of March.  The suspects demanded the wallet from the victim and when the victim refused the male suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim. It is alleged that the female suspect kicked the victim in the head while he was on the ground.

Arrest Update:

21 year old Jean Paul YADE of 680 Portage Lane has been charged with robbery, aggravated assault, threatening death and 3 counts of breach of probation.  Yade will appear in bail court on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m.

On the 22 March 2013 police attended in the 300 block of Wellington St for a Domestic Dispute. On arrival police discovered a male who was on conditions to stay away from his partner and not to communicate with her. He will be appearing in WASH court today.

A second male was arrested on the 23rd March 2013 shortly after 2:00 AM when it was discovered he had damaged his partners’ front door. He will be appearing in WASH court for domestic related mischief.

On the 23rd March 2013 Joseph Yukich (age 24) of 123 Panoramic Drive was arrested for impaired driving and consuming over the legal limit. Police officers observed erratic driving on Queen St near Gore St. Mr. Yukich was pulled over where he appeared impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and brought to the City Police Station where Intoxilizer readings were over .08. He will be appearing in court on April 29, 2013.
