On July 18, 2015, at 3:00 p.m., City Police and the Fire Dept. attended at the Gros Cap marina regarding a boat fire. After launching his boat, the owner attempted to start it and it became engulfed in flames. The boat was destroyed.

On July 18, 2015, at 3:00 p.m., City Police and the Fire Dept. attended at the Gros Cap marina regarding a boat fire.  After launching his boat, the owner attempted to start it and it became engulfed in flames.  The boat was destroyed.  The fire is not considered suspicious.

On the morning of July 18, 2015 at approximately 1:30 a.m. patrol officers observed a vehicle being driven erratically in the west end of the city. A vehicle stop was conducted and officers found the driver to be under the influence of alcohol and a roadside breath test was administered.  As a result of the investigation 38yr old Richard Speers of Palace Drive was arrested and charged with driving a motor vehicle while having more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100ml of his blood (over.80).  He will be appearing in court August 24, 2015.
