On December 6, 2014 at 8 a.m. Patrol Officers arrested a 17-year-old young person following a disturbance at a west end home. Officers learned that the youth had broken her boyfriend’s gaming system and other items in the residence.

On December 6, 2014 at 8 a.m. Patrol Officers arrested a 17-year-old young person following a disturbance at a west end home. Officers learned that the youth had broken her boyfriend’s gaming system and other items in the residence. Further the youth [allegedly] assaulted two persons in the home. The youth then struggled with officers when they arrested her. At the time of this disturbance the youth was on a probation order. The young person has been charged with mischief under $5,000 x2, resist arrest, assault x2 and three counts of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth will appear in court on December 8.

On December 5, 2014 Sault Ste. Marie Traffic Department pulled a vehicle over in the area of St. Georges Avenue at McNabb Street for a Highway Traffic violation.  The driver of the vehicle was checked and it is alleged that he appeared to be impaired by alcohol.  The accused was given a breath demand at which time he refused to provide.  The accused was arrested for failing to provide a breath sample.  Brian McConnell age 29 will appear in court on December 29, 2014 at 9 a.m.
 
On December 5, 2014 City Police responded in the area of the Sault and Area Hospital.  The accused was found to be in an intoxicated state.  Police received a complaint of an assault that had occurred.  It is alleged that the accused hit the victim in the face.  The accused Courtney Mitchell, age 33 was arrested for assault and will appear in court on January 12, 2015 at 9 a.m.
 
On December 5, 2014 City Police attended the Canadian Tire store at 200 McNabb Street regarding a female shoplifter.  Upon attending officers met with a loss prevention officer and the accused Shannon Catherine Edwards age 43.  The accused was allegedly observed choosing clothing and leaving the store without paying for the items.  The accused was held by security and police arrested her for theft under $5,000.  A further check revealed that the accused was on conditions to change her address, appear in court when required to do so and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The accused was arrested for theft under $5,000, breach of probation x3 and breach of an undertaking. The accused was also found to have an outstanding bench warrant for theft under $5,000 and breach of probation.  The accused will appear in Wash Court (weekend and statutory holiday court) on December 6, 2014.
