CAR ROLLS IN CRASH Yesterday at 6:40 p.m., an eastbound vehicle on Malabar Drive allegedly went through a stop sign and struck a vehicle that was southbound on Willow Avenue. The vehicle on Willow Avenue was being driven by a Mrs.
CAR ROLLS IN CRASH
Yesterday at 6:40 p.m., an eastbound vehicle on Malabar Drive allegedly went through a stop sign and struck a vehicle that was southbound on Willow Avenue.

The vehicle on Willow Avenue was being driven by a Mrs. Belanger, age 62 (address and first name not available). The force of the collision caused the Belanger vehicle to roll over twice.

Mrs. Belanger was taken to hospital where she was treated and released.

The driver of the vehicle on Malabar, 19-year-old Travis Brown of the Sault, has been charged with going through the stop sign.


HIT & RUN
A motor vehicle and a bicycle collided last evening at 9:20 p.m. on Hudson near Wellington West sending the bike rider, a 17-year-old male to hospital with serious injuries.

The vehicle was southbound and the bicycle northbound on Hudson. The driver of the car fled the scene. Police, who do not have a description of the vehicle yet, are requesting your assistance. If you saw the accident or the car leaving the scene, you are asked to contact city police at 949-6300.


SHOPLIFTING
Heather Rivers, age 29 of Sault Ste. Marie was stopped by security personnel at Rome's Grocery at 6:30 p.m. yesterday on suspicion of shoplifting. She allegedly escaped from store security but was picked up a short distance away by city police who have charged her with escaping lawful custody.
